Three weeks from today we will be strolling around Ennis, Ireland, looking for Custy's Music Shop, jet-lagged and getting in everybody's way. Our flight gets into the Shannon airport at 9:20am local time. If it's anything like the last time we went to Ireland, it'll take until noon to get our rental car and get away from the airport.
This time, instead of trying to drive through Galway City and get all the way to Sligo the first day, we are only going as far as Ennis, less than an hour up the N 18. Our final destination is the Oideas Gael language school in Glencolumbkille, in Co Donegal, which starts on Saturday. According to Google maps, it will only take 4 hours and 37 minutes to get from Ennis to Glencolumbkille. I don't believe it for a minute. We've driven on the R 263. Last time we got lost in Killybegs for over an hour, in the rain, trying to find the road to Slieve League. Killybegs isn't exactly New York.
I've already got lists on top of lists to remind myself what to take and what I need to do before we leave. It's going to be a busy three weeks. But it'll be worth it.
